ABOUT ME & MENO-POWER
My name is Christina Reijndorp and I am 52 years old. Born in The Netherlands but living in Älta, Stockholm for almost 7 years now. I am an event manager and organise international conferences and events.
My menopause journey started a few years ago with ending up in the hospital after a heavy and long menstruational period. My blood and iron levels were so low after this that I needed a blood and iron transfusion immediately. While getting all these extensive tests at the gynaecology department, not once was the Menopause mentioned to me. Looking back I think that was really strange as I was definitely peri-menopausal and heavy and irregular bleedings are quite common during that fase.
But I really started my menopause quest for knowledge after a period of waking up stressed in the morning with heart palpitations. This was such a weird experience for me as I was not stressed at all and really enjoying my work and feeling absolutely confident professionally. I was lucky that I heard about these symptons before and knew right away this must be a hormonal thing. I started to pay more attention to my food and exercise, but nevertheless I got other symptons like severe joint and muscle pains (and they did not come from the gym) that really bothered me and decided to talk to a gynaecologist after a good friend shared her experience with bio-identical hormones with me. Of course I needed to know more, and thanks to the amazing Dr. Louise Newson (UK) a whole world of evidence based knowledge opened up for me after taking her masterclass online.

And here we are now.....
I have shared my knowledge and personal experience with friends and relatives, but each time I realise that there is so much mis- and lack of information, both with women and doctors. I think that every woman deserves to know what Menopause is all about, so she realizes it is not just in her head. With Meno-Power I hope to contribute to getting the conversation going and empowering women with evidence based knowledge so they will be able to make a well informed decision on their future health and enjoy the second part of life to the fullest!
As an event organizer, what is more fitting than to organize a Menopause event! Although I would love to organise a big event featuring Louise Newson and some of the great women from the (M) Factor film, I decided to start small and organise a (M) Factor screening on Friday 24 October 2025 from 19:45-20:15 in Älta, Stockholm!
I organise this non-profit event myself without sponsoring or external finance. I do ask a small fee of 150 SEK for the costs: venue hire, film licence and catering.
Take care and I hope to see you at the (M) Factor screening event on the 24th of October in Älta!
Love,
Christina
